Human Rights Ambassador Congratulates Parties in Philippines on Negotiation of Peace Agreement

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Human Rights Ambassador for Salem-News.com, William Nicholas Gomes congratulates parties in Philippines on negotiation of peace agreement.

William Nicholas Gomes said, “I welcome the comprehensive peace agreement between the Government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.”

“This is a significant step towards lasting peace and development for Mindanao. This peace process ending the long-running conflict will not just benefit the region, but is vital for the security and economic development of the Philippines as a whole.

“I congratulate President Aquino and the courage and sincerity of the Leadership of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front,” the human rights ambassador for Salem-News.com said.

“I also want to take the chance to welcome British government who has played vital role in this peace process and helped in various ways,” said William Nicholas Gomes.

Human rights ambassador, William Nicholas Gomes, further said “I want to share thanks to Tengku Dato’ Ab Ghafar bin Tengku Mohamed, previously director general of the National Security Division, Prime Minister’s Department, and the Secretary of the National Security Council, who had served as facilitator of the peace process. I hope leaders will now focus on how the framework will be implemented, as well as the possible challenges ahead”
