Organization: Task Force Detainees of the Philippines (TFDP)
The Y4R staff shall implement the organization’s Y4R project in involving the youth on the promotion of human rights through education, advocacies, and creative actions. S/he will work in coordination with the campaign and advocacy staff and the human rights education staff in the conduct of activities, and with the TFDP island staff regarding preparatory activities for the Y4R nationwide assembly.
The Y4R staff shall implement the organization’s Y4R project in involving the youth on the promotion of human rights through education, advocacies, and creative actions. S/he will work in coordination with the campaign and advocacy staff and the human rights education staff in the conduct of activities, and with the TFDP island staff regarding preparatory activities for the Y4R nationwide assembly.
Responsibilities:
- Shall conduct trainings on human rights and leadership skills with the youth as participants
- Shall organize Y4R in different schools, parishes, and communities for youth engagement on human rights issues
- Shall consolidate existing Y4R chapters in schools, parishes, and communities
- Shall take charge of preparatory activities for the Y4R national assembly, such as sending of communications to concerned individuals/organizations, logistical arrangements, putting together of assembly kits, etc.
- Shall take charge of the overall conduct of the nationwide Y4R assembly
- Shall prepare reports and other related documents on the Y4R project
- Shall report to the Executive Director
Operations:
- The Y4R staff will work for a period of at least one year since date of hiring.
- The Y4R staff may be required to render additional hours or days depending on the need at a certain time. S/he will travel to TFDP focus areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
- The staff may be required to attend meetings of the Board of Trustees and/or Executive Committee related to the Y4R project.
Qualifications
1. Must have at least three years experience in working in a non-government organization
2. Must have at least three years experience in organizing work, preferably among the youth
3. Must be willing to travel
4. Must be proficient in MS Office
5. Has initiative and time management skills and can work with minimum supervision
6. Background in theater is an advantage
