AFSC is recruiting a Program Director for its program in Myanmar, based in Yangon. The Myanmar Program Director will be responsible for the management of all AFSC programs in Myanmar, and for assisting in the coordination of regional programs which include Myanmar.

AFSC is recruiting a Program Director for its program in Myanmar, based in Yangon. The Myanmar Program Director will be responsible for the management of all AFSC programs in Myanmar, and for assisting in the coordination of regional programs which include Myanmar. Currently this includes the Myanmar Pluralism & Peace program, the Myanmar monastic schools program, the regional Business & Peace program, and the regional ‘Dialogue and Exchange’ program. The Myanmar Program Manager will supervise program and admin/finance staff and act as the main contact for planning, monitoring and reporting on these programs.
Qualifications required: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Exceptional work experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree. Five or more years’ experience in planning and monitoring peace focused programs in Myanmar or other countries in the region. Experience in strategic thinking, political analysis, program planning and implementation. Experience of working in Myanmar and a good understanding of the history and context of the country. Experience of working both at a community level and national level, for positive inclusive change towards peace, equality and tolerance. Experience in training, workshop facilitation, and advocacy. Fluency in spoken and written English and Burmese essential. For other required skills and abilities, see the job description.
Salary range: $1,500 to $2,500 plus benefits, negotiable.
