Land Reform Project Intern [CCHR Cambodia]

    CCHR is seeking to recruit two Cambodian candidates for the full time positions of Project Intern for a period of six months to work in our office in Phnom Penh. The selected candidates will work closely on the Land Reform Project. She/he will receive a modest monthly stipend.

    Requirement

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Bothe candidates

    •     Recent University graduate in law or social sciences or related fields;
    •     Fair command of the English language—reading, writing and speaking;
    •     Interested in human rights advocacy;
    •     Good communication skills;
    •     Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet and E-mail. Knowledge of Photoshop is desirable;
    •     Honest, hard working and willing to learn;
    •     Able to travel to the provinces.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:
    The first candidate

    •     Daily media monitoring on land issues;
    •     Responsibility for legal fees proceeding and filling all documents regarding legal fee:
    •     Assisting in informal translation of documents from Khmer to English and from English to Khmer;
    •     Take part in radio talk show preparation and keep records;
    •     Take note on project monthly activities and community background;
    •     Join project field work mission in Phnom Penh and provinces.

    The second candidate

    •     Weekly and daily monitoring of Royal Gazette to log grant of land concessions pursuant to Sub-Decree;
    •     Responsibility for project support budget proceeding and filling all documents regarding project support budget;
    •     Assisting in informal translation of documents from Khmer to English and from English to Khmer;
    •     Taking notes of meetings and keeping list of contact persons updated;
    •     Document filing and ensuring maintenance of project materials;
    •     Join project field work mission in Phnom Penh and provinces.
