Arus Pelangi is a non government non profit national organization that was established in 2006 as a response to the desperate need in Indonesia for formal legal representation of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community, either as individual or group – in order to affect the societal norms and perceptions towards, and to increase an overall awareness of the rights of the LGBT community. AP has four (4) strategic directions, which are: Advocacy, Campaign, Education, and Organization, and seven (7) basic principles, which are: Independent, Anti Discrimination, Gender Equality, Anti Violence, Pluralism, Egalitarian, and Impartial.
