Indonesia’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN Bids Farewell

JAKARTA, 8 January 2014 – Ambassador I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, the outgoing Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to ASEAN called on the Secretary-General of ASEAN H.E. Le Luong Minh today to bid farewell. He completed his term on 31 December 2013.  

SG Minh thanked Ambassador Ngurah for his dedication, initiatives, contribution and service towards the work of ASEAN, most notably during his chairmanship of the Committee of the Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) in 2011. The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Ambassador and the Government of Indonesia for their continued support and assistance to the ASEAN Secretariat, in particular in strengthening the ASEAN Secretariat.

Ambassador Ngurah expressed his commitment to continue supporting the work of ASEAN and the ASEAN Secretariat in his new assignment. He reassured SG Minh that the Permanent Mission of Indonesia to ASEAN would continue to strengthen its cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat. SG Minh and Ambassador Ngurah also exchanged views on current development in ASEAN, in particular towards realising the ASEAN Community in 2015.
