KUALA LIPIS, Sept 14 (Bernama) — Umno has been urged to hold information events, forums and discussions on the policy of the party’s struggle for the young and not limit them to members only to ensure more understood its struggle.
Umno supreme council member Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said this was because many of the young still did not understand the policy and struggle of the party.
“We cannot depend on a third party such as the media to give information and explain the policy of the party, but we ourselves must go down to the field to hold forums and briefings.
“In this regard, Youth, Wanita and Puteri must organise events even if the turnout is small,” he told reporters after opening the Cameron Highland Umno division delegates meeting at Dewan Umno, Felda Sungai Koyan this evening.
He said about three million youths would register as new voters for the coming general election and they should be approached and registered as members of the party.
“I am confident if they are approached, and they understand the policy and role of Umno, they will vote in favour of the party in the coming general election,” he added.
