SINGAPORE: Three ministries are inviting stakeholders and members of the public to participate in a public consultation exercise starting on Monday (Jul 6).
The ministries – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) – are holding the joint exercise to seek public opinion and views on the ASEAN Community Blueprints (2016-2025), according to an MFA press release.
The ASEAN Community is based on three Community Pillars which will be established at the end of this year: The ASEAN Political-Security Community, Economic Community and the Socio-Cultural Community. ASEAN has also established a High Level Task Force to develop the ASEAN Community Vision 2015 and the Blueprints, to be adopted at the 27th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur in November.
Stakeholders and interested members of the public are invited to share their views on the blueprints through the official websites of the ministries, the MFA said. Submissions can be made until 6pm on Jul 16.
Singapore is currently hosting the 7th Meeting of the High Level Task Force, which comprises senior officials from the ten ASEAN Member States, from Monday until Thursday.
Ambassador-at-Large Ong Keng Yong is Singapore’s representative to the High Level Task Force.
