    TASKS

    • The bulk of the work will be focused on coordinating and assisting the implementation of advocacy strategy in the context of human rights in Myanmar, in particular Rohingya and religious minorities.
    • Establish communication and advocacy systems incl website, database and networking.
    • Assist in the formation and support of a regional Eminent Persons group.
    • Coordinate and incorporate inputs from key stakeholders, in particular the leadership and advisors of the organization regarding advocacy messaging and policy development.
    • Draft and distribute media releases, public statements and relevant correspondence as directed.
    • Produce narrative reports, assist with fundraising.
    • Administrative and other duties, as directed.

    CONDITIONS

    Preferred start date: 1 August, 2015. This is a 9-month fellowship with possibility of extension as a full-time job.

    Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but will require orientation and consultation visits to Thailand and Myanmar.

    Small living allowance of RM 2,500 9approx USD 668) per month will be provided. The successful candidate must possess a valid passport and be able to fund their own travel to Kuala Lumpur to take up the position.

    SELECTION CRITERIA

    • Masters degree or other post-graduate.
    • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
    • High level of cross-cultural and inter-faith sensitivity.
    • Highly-organised proactive communicator.
    • Familiarity with Southeast Asian and Myanmar human rights and politics.
