The conduct of sexual assault and violence is a serious crime. It is known to have short or long term effects on victims. Victims may need help dealing with the trauma they experience. The state has the obligations to ensure that all victims of sexual violence can claim their rights to an effective remedy.
ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights in Indonesia will hold an webinar titled “The Right to an Effective Remedy for Victims of Sexual Violence: Existing Practices, Gaps, Challenges and Ways Forward.” This webinar is organised by AICHR Indonesia in collaboration with HRWG and R2P Asia Pacific.
