New Southern Policy for a Peaceful, Stable and Prosperous ASEAN Region

The Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) and Korea Foundation (KF) will organize a webinar titled “New Southern Policy for a Peaceful, Stable and Prosperous ASEAN Region” which will be held on June 15, 2021, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm (Jakarta/Bangkok time).

This public forum is set to be a medium for the young professionals to present the main ideas enclosed in their policy recommendations to the public. The forum will start with an opening remark by Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, Founder and Chairman of Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) and followed with the keynote presentations from H.E. Michael Tene, Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Political Security Community and Prof. Choe Wongi, Head of Center for ASEAN-India Studies, Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) on the latest update of ASEAN-Korean and Indonesian-Korean relations, especially in the context of NSP. The two panelists are also invited to share their thoughts on the developments, challenges, and expectations of NSP coming from their respective positions.

Afterward, representatives from the ten young professionals, Equilibrium Tampubolon, Substance Support Officer at Ministry of National Development Planning, Amalia Mastur, International Trade Policy Adviser at British Embassy and Angelo Abil Wijaya, Consultant at the World Bank Group, are invited to share their policy recommendations and how they think they might address some of the aforementioned challenges. The forum will be followed with a question and answer session with the press and general public, led by Prof. Dewi Fortuna Anwar, Co-Founder of FPCI and Research Professor at Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI).
