The Public Forum aims to relate the discussions, findings and outcomes of all the previous sessions of the closed roundtable discussion to the public. The key aim of the Public Forum is to give the public an opportunity to have an open discussion with the experts of the Indonesia – Myanmar Dialogue on:
  • Overview of Indonesia-Myanmar Relations with a Focus on Democratic Indonesia’s Civil-Military Reforms;
  • The Role of the Indonesian Armed Forces in the Making of Indonesia’s Democratic Constitution, Free & Fair Elections and Regional Autonomy;
  • Peace & Reconciliation in Democratic Indonesia: The Aceh Peace Process;
  • Building Democratic Institutions and Creating a Modern Professional Armed Forces: Duties and Responsibilities of Civilian and Military Stakeholders; and
  • Recommendations for Building on Indonesia-Myanmar Dialogues
