The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA) Asia is looking for a Research Intern for a period of three months to work closely with the Research Officer in creating meaningful tools to advance LGBTIQ+ rights in Asia. Since this is a remote position, the intern must have a reliable internet connection and be willing to work across flexible time zones.
Key responsibilities

Work closely with the Research Officer and the wider team to strengthen ILGA Asia’s research objectives

Contribute to ongoing research projects through desk research, coordination and liaising, and other tasks assigned by the team
Requirements and Skills

A Bachelor’s degree in law, social sciences, human rights or a related field is required, while a Master’s degree is an asset.

Candidates pursuing a Master’s degree or a PhD in a related field are also welcome to apply.

Previous working experience in LGBTIQ+ rights (or gender rights more broadly) in Asia is a must.

Knowledge and experience of LGBTIQ+ human rights, movement building, and political issues in Asia are strongly preferred.

Strong research skills, command of the English language and an eye for detail.

Proficiency in drafting briefing notes, press statements, and other documents, in line with ILGA Asia’s mission and objectives

Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task and work with efficiency
