The Study considers state regulation of freedom of religion and its relationship to conflict across all ten ASEAN Member States, in light of ASEAN’s commitment to ‘eliminate all forms of intolerance, discrimination and incitement of hatred based on religious beliefs’ in Article 22 of the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration. It provides a novel snapshot of the current state of freedom of thought, conscience and religion in ASEAN in order to assist in crafting appropriate policy and advocacy responses to this issue.
The Human Rights Resource Centre is delighted to announce an upcoming discussion forum on its most recent study, Keeping the Faith*, taking place on Monday, 11 May, 2015 at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, from 9am – 12pm.

The findings of both the Thai and Myanmar country reports will be presented at this event and we will be joined by key experts to consider both challenges faced and opportunities presented in both these countries. Copies of the full report (in e-book form) will be available at this event.
