The Asia Centre will organize a report launch “Harmony Laws in Southeast Asia” during the the 7th Southeast Asia Freedom of Religion or Belief (SEAFoRB) Conference on 22 November 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am (Bangkok Time / GMT+7).
The panelists in this event include Khin Mai Aung, Advisory Board of Asia Centre (Myanmar), Asst. Prof. John Philip Binondo, Lecturer at De La Salle University Manila (Philippines) and Lutfi Hakim, Asia Centre Associate and Columnist (Malaysia). Pavitra Ramanujam from Association for Progressive Communications will be giving a welcome remarks. The discussion will focus on legal measures that often police religious freedom and criminalise the voicing of grievances by minority communities.
